  • Founder

    Dr. Shane Quinones is a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Michigan specializing in pediatric genetics, with a clinical focus on inborn errors of metabolism and conditions identified through newborn screening. Passionate about improving access to genetic care, Dr. Quinones leverages innovative care models, including telemedicine, to support children and families navigating complex metabolic disorders.

    As the interim director of Global REACH, he leads efforts to expand access to genetic services in resource-limited settings through international partnerships. His current projects include launching newborn screening programs in Nepal and advancing mobile health tools to improve diagnostics in low- and middle-income countries. He also played a pivotal role in establishing genetic counseling services in Ethiopia.

    A committed educator, innovator, and global health leader, Dr. Quinones brings deep expertise and a collaborative spirit to VIBE, where he helps reimagine how learners everywhere engage with medical education.

    Dr. Kamran Mirza is a Professor of Pathology at the University of Michigan, where he serves as Assistant Chair for Education and Director of the Division of Training Programs and Communication. A national leader in medical education, Dr. Mirza is known for developing innovative, learner-centered tools that make complex topics in pathology accessible and engaging.

    As co-founder of VIBE, he brings a passion for democratizing medical knowledge through everyday learning. His vision for VIBE combines cutting-edge technology with high-yield clinical content to support learners preparing for the USMLE and beyond—no matter where they are in their journey.

    In addition to his work in digital education, Dr. Mirza is deeply involved in global pathology training, mentorship, and educational strategy. His leadership bridges the continuum of learning from medical school to residency, fellowship, and lifelong professional development.
